WHAT IS RECOVER CPR?

RECOVER (Reassessment Campaign on Veterinary Resuscitation) is the first and only evidence-based CPR training program developed specifically for veterinary professionals. Created through a collaborative effort between the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC) and the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (VECCS), RECOVER provides standardized, peer-reviewed guidelines for performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation in dogs and cats.

Unlike other CPR courses, RECOVER is grounded in veterinary-specific research and best practices, ensuring that the techniques taught are not only effective but also tailored to the unique physiology and needs of our patients. The program is designed to improve outcomes by teaching consistent, high-quality CPR through a combination of online learning and hands-on training.

Whether you're looking to certify, refresh, or expand your skills, RECOVER sets the gold standard for veterinary CPR education.

Recover CPR BLS & ALS Certification

RECOVER CPR Certification (BLS/ALS) Workshop
This certification course is designed for veterinary professionals who have completed the online RECOVER CPR training through ACVECC. Our in-person course brings theory to life with hands-on training in both Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS).

  • BLS focuses on high-quality chest compressions and effective ventilation using realistic Rescue Critters® manikins.

  • ALS covers drug administration, defibrillation, ECG interpretation, and more. We use a high-fidelity patient simulator by iSimulate, which provides real-time feedback on vital signs including ECG, blood pressure, respiratory rate, capnography, and pulse oximetry.

Participants will work through four canine CPR scenarios to reinforce skills, develop confidence, and improve team communication under pressure. Unlike standard RECOVER workshops, this course includes an additional lecture component that reviews the online course to ensure all participants understand the "why" behind each step of CPR—giving teams the knowledge they need to make informed, life-saving decisions during real emergencies. These workshops also serve as an excellent team-building opportunity, encouraging collaboration and coordination in a high-stakes, hands-on environment.

RECOVER CPR Certification (BLS/ALS) Extended Workshop
Want more reps and species-specific training? This extended workshop includes everything offered in the BLS/ALS certification workshop, plus two feline-focused scenarios for practicing CPR on cat patients—an area often overlooked in standard training.

Along with high-quality hands-on practice and access to the same advanced monitoring and simulation equipment, this workshop also features our custom lecture component to ensure strong theoretical understanding before skills are applied.

Whether you're training new staff or refreshing an experienced team, this session is also a fantastic team-building experience, helping veterinary professionals learn how to communicate effectively, delegate roles, and support each other in high-pressure situations.
